The first single from Rihanna's new album, Diamonds, barely debuted on U.S. radio on Wednesday, and the controversy has already begun. According to critics, the song made reference to the drug ecstasy.
"It's a hippie song," said Rihanna, who rolled a cigarette diamonds on the single cover, possibly alluding to marijuana - a drug which has already claimed to be consuming.
Rihanna's song was composed by Sia and produced by Benny Blanco and the Norwegian duo Stargate, who also signed the hits Do not Stop the Music, Only Girl (in the World) and What's My Name.
The singer's new album has no release date. The tour that Rihanna will present his new songs, however, is already marked. The Diamonds World Tour begins in Buffalo, New York on March 8.
This will be the seventh album from Rihanna, who releases a year. The latter was Talk That Talk. Before you came Music Of The Sun (2005), A Girl Like Me (2006), Good Girl Gone Bad (2007), Rated R (2009) and Loud (2010).
